Join us for a full day ‘Come and Sing’ on Saturday 8th June at Ullswater Community College, Penrith.

This is a great opportunity for you to enjoy singing a variety of choral works in an informal setting, led by our Conductor and Music Director for 2024/25 Season, Matthew Owens. Piano accompaniment by David Shingler.

No previous experience of choral singing is necessary – just come, learn and enjoy. Singing is good for you!

Music

The main choruses to be included in the programme are:

  • Parry I was glad;
  • Brahms Geistliches Lied;
  • Mozart Ave verum corpus;
  • Haydn Insanae et vanae curae;
  • Elgar The spirit of the Lord is upon me (prologue to The Apostles);
  • Vaughan Williams Antiphon (from Five Mystical Songs).

Matthew may also decide to include other choruses for which sheet music will either not be required or will be distributed on the day.
